Vince: Truthfully I mostly enjoyed that no one really knew who I was, they all thought I was some actor playing this crazy role, then as the crew and the cast found our that I was really playing myself, and that I was the Executive Producer, it made it all the better, I’m still laughing my ass off.Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (b. GVK: What are some of the funny moments you had on set? Ever since I was a young kid I’ve always been a horny fuck so even the costume was a natural fit. Vince: I was playing a pissed off video game developer, myself, this is pretty close to who I am so once I got over the fact that I was in cock and ball costume it was easy. GVK: What sort of preparation did you do for playing the part? When I read the script I knew it wasn’t right, I was playing myself and I don’t talk like it was in the script, so I just said my peace my way and it all worked fine. Vince: Uwe was very easy to work with, he knows what he wants yet he allowed me and most the actors to improvise their lines. GVK: What was working with Uwe like and how was the creative process with your character? Did you get much feedback into the part? I just kept telling myself I’m a cock I can do anything. I loved the action stuff, fighting with Uwe and then falling off the stage, the professional stunt folks were all great, they let me practice so that helped a lot. Vince: The script changed from when I last seen it, and I had no idea I was even going to still be in the movie, let alone be hiding in the Krotchy suit as I attempt to kill Uwe Boll. What are your thoughts on the sets and action, and how did you attempt to balance the all out action while wearing a bulky suit in selling the part? I was in that suit for 2 days, I got real comfortable in it, and most enjoyable was hanging out with the crew, I’m a lot more comfortable with blue collar folks than I am with actors. Vince: It was a real funny experience, first thing from getting picked up at the airport was straight to the costume department, the balls fit fine, but the cock head was too small. GVK: You seemed to fit the costume well, what can you tell the readers about how the design came about and what your thoughts on the look of the suit are as well as your experiences wearing the costume? Vince: Never a feature film like POSTAL, only an NYU film project many years ago. GVK: Aside from your work in the games, have you done any other acting work in the past? Vince: The movie is basically Uwe’s adoption of our game POSTAL, and I play myself and the Postal game character Krotchy. GVK: Tell me about the role you play please. I want to thank Vince for taking the time for the interview as well as all the support and fun moments we had on set. Recently I got the chance to talk with Running With Scissors CEO Vince Desi about playing Krotchky in the upcoming Uwe Boll film Postal as well as his experiences on and off the set. It’s a card game that basically lets you PVP using World of Warcraft heroes. So imagine my delight when I discovered Hearthstone in the iOS app store. I found questing and raiding to be tedious, and I hated the politics and dramas of guilds. Eventually I got tired of it though since I was mostly just a PVP player. Pickups like Flamestrike, Consecrate, and Lightning Storm can often mean the difference between a trouncing win and utter defeat, so be sure that when it comes time to pick your next spell you always have at least one of these floating somewhere in your completed deck.I played World of Warcraft for years, and I had a fun time for the most part. Weapon counts should never be higher than two, and when selecting spells, any AoE picks will be king. In Hearthstone, the winning player is always the one who keeps his opponent on the backfoot, reacting to what you do instead of dictating your next play. When choosing spells, weapons, and secrets, you want to focus on cards that maintain your board state while giving you as much flexibility as possible in case your initial plan is foiled by a solid topdeck or an unexpected minion. RELATED: How to Play Gwent in the Witcher III: Wild Hunt This rule can change depending on your hero and the deck’s playstyle, but keep it in the back of your mind the next time you’re up for a draft. Also, speaking of curve, optimally you’ll want to shoot for something that resembles a bit of a pyramid shape, with a few one-cost cards, several more twos, peaking at four, and tapering off from there. Next, always be sure that you’re stocking up on at least one taunt minion, with the optimal number being around 3-4 at the higher end of the mana curve – a’la 4-cost and beyond. Without going too in-depth and taking up an entire other article devoted to the subject, generally this is how you want to try to build each deck in the meta as it is today: Tier two at the moment is populated by Rogues, Druids, and Warlocks, while Priests, Shamans, and Warriors bring up the rear in tier 3. If you get any three of these in your roll, pick them immediately, as their power is simply unmatched. Once you’ve jumped into the arena, there’s the process of picking which hero you plan on playing through to the finish. As the meta currently stands post-LoE (the League of Explorers expansion), the top three classes in the arena meta are: Paladin, Mage, and Hunter. This uncertainty is what makes the game mode exciting for many players who prefer to shirk the constructed route, as you’re never 100 percent sure what kind of opponent you’re going up against until the game is already underway. It depends entirely on the hero you roll and the cards you are given to pick as the draft goes on (something we’ll get into momentarily). Where it gets interesting is that unlike constructed play, how your deck eventually shapes up isn’t anything you can plan ahead for. RELATED: The Complete Guide to Improving Your PC Gaming Performance Of the two archetypes, control takes quite a bit more knowledge of the game, the cards, and how the arena plays because you have to make vital decisions on when to go for damage, and when to worry about the board state instead. Conversely, control decks are much slower, and focus primarily on wearing down your opponent through ‘controlling’ the board and keeping any minions they might throw down cleared and away from your face. The days of marketing projects taking 3 months to deliver are gone. Scoring marketing opportunities (see the ICE framework) ensures you and your team are confident in maximising marketing resource by working on the right work, at the right time, and prevents human biases negatively influencing team priorities. The ability to accurately score and prioritise ideas enables teams to make strategic work decisions and to focus on this high-leverage work. The biggest growth levers a marketing team has at its disposal are team productivity and efficiency, this comes down to ensuring everyone is working on the most high-leverage opportunities at any point in time. Prioritise work that impacts goals and revenue Your marketing opportunities should be stored in a consistent format which clearly explains the expected outcome (for more information, see marketing hypothesis best practises) of the activity in order that they can be scored and prioritised accurately. The first goal of any growth marketing team is to capture all marketing ideas in a central repository so that opportunities can be analysed and prioritised. Idea repositoryĬapture all marketing ideas in one place (not in people’s heads) Typically, this is in the form of visual widgets that turn data into insights, and may include aggregating data from 3rd party tools (such as HubSpot, Pardot or Google Analytics). This should bring together important metrics and indicators in one place whilst keeping the big picture in focus, and tracking team progress towards the goal. Custom dashboardsĪ dashboard view enables everyone to quickly and easily gather performance insights at a glance. Everyone should understand team goals (see the north star metric), and the software should assist ensuring the team remains on-course to achieve the desired results. Similarly, in a recent review of 30 Marketing Project Management Tools, against all the odds, the ProofHub team concluded that “ProofHub tops the list”. Well, we studied a number of the most popular and in-depth reviews and, whilst we’re not suggesting foul play, we suspect that there may be a teeny weeny bit of bias in some of them.įor example, in a review of 13 Marketing Project Management Software Solutions the ClickUp team came to the (shocking) conclusion that “ClickUp is by far the best marketing project management software”. OK, so there are *loads* of reviews of marketing project management software – why should we write another one? No, it was miserable – no one wants to get a bike chain wrapped around their skull. It was like that line in Bowie’s Queen Bitch: ‘I can do better than that.’ If Iggy Pop had been there at the Roxy or the 100 Club, or Keith Richards or Mick Jagger, someone would have tried to beat them up, too, because they wanted their name in the gossip columns.ĭo you relish the fact that at least rock had ‘edge’ back then? It was more than just a heritage industry… And I didn’t want that level of, ‘I’m gonna get the police on you.’ But the Londonbased punk scene was like that. When someone you don’t know suddenly hits you with a bike chain bought for you by your exgirlfriend (Chrissie Hynde) – though I’m not saying she bought it just so he could do that with it – I mean, well, talk about karma… I was impaled on the zeitgeist! When Sid Vicious beat me up – that incident was pretty gruesome. Did it feel like you were plugged into the zeitgeist? You hung around with Iggy Pop and the Stones, championed Bowie and Roxy Music, and you were in an early incarnation of Sex Pistols. I thought, ‘That Fellini movie in my head is now real!’ I was at this party for Roy Rogers, the movie cowboy, at his home where his horse Trigger was stuffed, and all these photographers, thought I was one of The Faces because of the way I looked, pushed me together with Roy, his wife Dale and Barry White, of all people, with the stuffed horse behind us, and they started snapping. I never thought I was as big as any rock star but the moment when I thought, ‘This is the big time,’ was in ’75 in America. You were, along with Charles Shaar Murray, the first example from these shores of the rock writer as star – you even signed autographs at gigs. “I’m not an iconic figure,” he decides, gesticulating wildly from behind a plume of smoke. Three decades on, he’s a hero to many, though Kent is less convinced. Cocaine and heroin hastened his demise: he recalls being “so poverty-stricken” he couldn’t afford a tape recorder. I made myself ill, sure…”Īt his early 70s peak, he was churning out definitive articles, thousands of words long, on the likes of Syd Barrett, Nick Drake and Brian Wilson. “Actually, going through drug withdrawals is very uncomfortable but it’s not technically ‘dying’. “I only nearly died once, when I overdosed with Iggy Pop,” corrects Kent. It was a 10-year period that saw Kent’s decline from golden boy to pariah, as well as numerous near-death experiences, either from drugs or at the hands of punk thugs Sid Vicious and Jah Wobble. The latter has yet to read his latest book, Apathy For The Devil, subtitled A 1970s Memoir – basically, the account of his rise, fall, and rise again, with the inevitable focus on the titular decade. These days, Kent lives in Paris with his wife and 17-year-old son. You won’t see me on that programme Grumpy Old Men. “I can’t complain,” he says, still tall, wiry and effusive at 58. Today, following the success of his 1994 collection, The Dark Stuff, and his 2002 award for Godlike Genius, ironically given to him by the NME, Kent’s standing as rock’s greatest ever storyteller has never been higher. I had never, up till then, heard the phrase “the killing floor”, which Kent used to describe his fate, a sad, lonely, pitiful junkie, ignored by his writer peers, who, he said, “wouldn’t even get their dicks out to piss on me.” When I first interviewed him, back in 1992, for an article for the defunct Rock CD about great British music journalists (I also spoke to his NME oppo Charles Shaar Murray, Julie Burchill, Tony Parsons and Paul Morley), he talked candidly and vividly about being effectively squeezed out of the NME in the late 70s after almost singlehandedly rescuing it from likely closure at the turn of the decade and transforming it into the bible of the UK counterculture with over a quarter of a million readers. Kent’s fortunes have improved somewhat in recent years. Not that Kent cares over-much about the rule, so he sparks up anyway. Trouble is, we’re indoors and there has been, since 2007, a nationwide ban on smoking in shops, pubs, and offices. When I reply in the negative, he goes for option two: a cigarette, given to him by a Faber employee. The first thing Nick Kent, ex-NME journalist, author of The Dark Stuff, and a flamboyant, notorious character in the annals of British rock, asks when we meet at the London headquarters of his publishers Faber & Faber is whether I have any spliff. Assuming you don’t have a photographic memory, you’d have to spend time drilling these characters into your brain. The only problem here is memorizing this password. That’s a pretty good one-it’s 16 characters, includes a mix of many different types of characters, and is hard to guess because it’s a series of random characters. Just bash your fingers against your keyboard, and you can come up with a strong password like 3o(t&gSp&3hZ4#t9. With the tips above, it’s pretty easy to come up with a password. But it’s fairly obvious-it’s a dictionary phrase where each word is capitalized properly. It’s 12 characters and includes upper-case letters, lower-case letters, a symbol, and some numbers. Try to mix it up-for example, “BigHouse$123” fits many of the requirements here.
Still, this soundbar supports many of the common audio formats that you're likely to come across on streaming platforms, like Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos. However, compared to the Sony HT-A5000, you won't find a room correction tool, so it sounds a little different depending on your space. There are a few EQ presets on hand to switch up its sound and a dialogue enhancement mode. Right out of the box, dialogue is clearly reproduced, and voices and lead instruments are present and accurate in the mix. This 3.1 soundbar has a simple design that makes it easy to plug into your TV for an improved sound. The Sony HT-G700 is a more wallet-friendly option from Sony's 2020 lineup. If you don't mind the same tradeoff on the soundstage performance, you may find that this bar provides a better value overall. What's handy about this setup is that you can always purchase a separate sub and satellites from the manufacturer separately, meaning if you move to a larger space down the line, you can upgrade it for a more cinematic sound. Also, without rear satellites, you don't get the same life-like feel with surround sound content.Īudio seems like it's coming from speakers placed in front of you rather than from all around you. First, you don't feel as much rumble in the low-bass, which is especially noticeable on bass-heavy soundtracks and action-centered scenes. That said, if you use the soundbar on its own, there are some tradeoffs in the sound. A standalone soundbar like this is a great alternative if you don't have a lot of space in your setup. With its balanced sound, you don't have trouble following the action on your screen, as voices and lead instruments are clearly and accurately reproduced right out of the box. It also supports Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos content, just like its premium cousin. You get the same selection of sound enhancement features, including Sony's Sound Field Optimization room correction feature. Its soundstage isn't as wide as the HT-A7000, so you don't quite get the same immersive feel, and it comes with one less HDMI port-otherwise, the bars perform very similarly. It's a mid-range option released in 2021 as a more affordable alternative to the Sony HT-A7000. If you're looking for a more affordable alternative, consider the Sony HT-A5000. Given its balanced sound out-of-the-box, you might have an issue-but if you love to control your bar's sound, you can check out more customizable setups like the Samsung HW-Q990B or the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with Speakers + Bass Module instead. It's a good choice, but it doesn't have a lot of options to customize its sound. There's Dolby Atmos support, too, so you can take advantage of more immersive object-based formats commonly found on streaming services. You can enjoy 5.1 surround sound content like Dolby Digital, and the included rear speakers bring a clear and real feel to your audio, so sound effects seem like they're coming from the space around you. This soundbar supports lots of common audio formats. The sub brings the rumble in the bass, so you feel the excitement in bass-heavy genres like EDM and action-heavy movies, just like you would at a movie theater. With it on, the bar's sound is fairly balanced, meaning everything from dialogue in your favorite movies to instruments in your favorite music are clear and accurate in the mix. As with most premium soundbars, there's a room correction feature to optimize the bar's audio reproduction based on the unique acoustics of your living space-it's called Sound Field Optimization. This 7.1.2 setup gives you a versatile overall performance with everything from music to movies to TV shows, with many features on hand to make the most of its sound. The best Sony soundbar we've tested is the Sony HT-A7000 with Speakers + Bass Module. |
